Only 20 members and 2 guests were brave enough today to battle the strong winds in this years first qualifier for the CL Golf League. The cold wind made it extremely difficult to play the course and this was reflected in the scores with the CBA assessment being -3 (Par 33 points). The scores from the top 3 players therefore were outstanding with John Garnett just missing out again to partner Jan Boultbee and the winner Steven Grey. Good golf from all 3 players in the very difficult conditions.

Competition Secretary Graham Sutton handled the draw for this year´s Doubles Match Play in a very efficient fashion with the 1st Round to be played on Wednesday the 22nd April. The pairings and draw will be on the website later this week.
We end on a very happy note. Some of our more observant members may have noticed Jan Boultbee being involved in supporting Angel and Graham during the last 2 weeks. We are delighted to announce that Jan has very kindly put herself forward to be Captain of the society next year. Both Jan and partner John have proven to be excellent members both on and off the course since joining the society over a year ago now and we all feel that Jan will make a great Captain taking the society forward. Your Committee have therefore no hesitation in co-opting Jan as immediate Vice Captain supporting Angel for the rest of the year. We would like to thank Keith Preston for stepping in and supporting Angel in the interim period but now please welcome Jan Boultbee as the new Vice Captain of our Society.
