The 3rd Round of the Bill Williams sponsored Away Day Shield took us to Font Del Llop on a very hot humid day. We had 20 members playing and 2 guests, this is below average for our away days but understandable for a sizzling Summers Day when some of our members preferred to stay at Bonalba.
Those that did support the Captain and Sponsor had a very enjoyable day´s golf with the course in very good condition.
Some of our members find this a very difficult course to play, with punishing rough and difficult to read greens but with the tees mostly forward today the scores were above average.
With only 1 group left out on the course, Michael Davison and Dennis Pyman were sitting smugly in the corner with their Pina Coladas having scored 40 and 39 respectively, great scores off their handicaps, waiting patiently to collect their winnings. Unfortunately for them the final group of Jean Paul and Pascale Leroux came in with even better scores of 41 and 40 points to pip them at the post.
Great scores all round and you will be pleased to know that their handicaps have all been cut accordingly.
