Today we played the last of our 6th Away
Days which qualify for the 2015 Bill Williams Away Day Shield and which is a Stableford
competition. 31 members and two guests
turned out for a later than normal
tee-off at Alicante Golf and were not disappointed as the course was in good
shape and the weather conditions were ideal giving us pleasant temperatures and
hardly any wind. However, the good conditions were not really reflected in the
results. The course played 2 over par as only 7 players scored 30 or more
points and there were many scores of mid to low 20. Congratulations go to Christiane who bucked
the trend and played to par. An
excellent win scoring 20 points on the back 9.
The course with his 6 par 3’s gave us plenty of
opportunities to attempt drives for nearest the pin and what a shame for Gordon
on hole 3 who missed the pin by inches for a hole-in-one.
Of our two guests, K. Gilbert won the guest prize with
a credible score of 30 points

There were also three twos, naturally from Gordon Burton on hole 3, from Martine Bernois on hole 6 and Michael Davison on hole 12. They receive the customary golf ball.
