Today we competed for the August Medal. 28 of us braved the hot summer weather
carrying plenty of water to combat dehydration.
The results show that the heat definitely influenced our performance as nobody
had a score below par. Many congratulations
to the winner, Nino Andres. Nino has
come near to being the winner on a few occasions and this time he came out top. It was also good to see two of our newer
members featuring among the top 5 places.
Well played David and Moe and not to forget Dennis and Michael who
consistently come in with good results.
A number of players mentioned that they had difficulty
with their putting, some suggesting it may have been due to heat exhaustion
making them light headed when trying to do their putting stroke. The difficult putting conditions were also
reflected in the fact that, on the par 3’s, nobody managed to score a birdie. After the prize giving, the Captain mentioned that Bonalba Golf are laying on a BBQ with live music on Saturday, 20 August and she was suggesting that we reserve two tables for our Society.
